The organizations listed below are providing meals throughout the week for children and their families.
- DPS, Durham County Government, the DPS Foundation, local nonprofits, and restaurants have launched “Durham FEAST.” The program provides food for children and adults. Click the link for more details. https://durhamfeast.org/
For families unable to travel to meal distribution sites, the Durham Public Schools Foundation is offering contactless deliveries to people’s homes on Wednesdays.Deliveries will be on a first-come, first-served basis. DPS Foundation currently has a limited amount of meals to deliver and will prioritize deliveries to households that cannot travel outside of the home due to being at higher risk for complications related to COVID-19 or do not have access to transportation.Details and information in English and Spanish about how to sign up are available at https://support-bullcityschools.netlify.app/
- No Kid Hungry North Carolina has a list of drive-thru or pick-up sites with meals for children at http://nokidhungrync.org/covid19. Families can also text “FOODNC” (or “COMIDA” in Spanish) to 877-877 for the closest three sites to their location.
- The NC Department of Health and Human Services has increased benefits to families receiving Food and Nutrition Services through the end of April. All families will receive the maximum amount allowed for their household size.
- The Durham Neighbors Free Lunch Initiative is providing contact-less free meals, Monday-Friday, through local restaurant Geer Street Garden. Click the link for more information: http://www.DurhamFreeLunch.com

- The Sheetz located at 7520 NC 751, Durham, NC is providing Kidz Meal Bags. Meal bags will be available all day to children and families. Click the link for more information. https://www.sheetz.com/news/kidzmeals
- The Chicken Hut located on 3019 Fayetteville St is providing free weekday meals for children 18 and younger. Breakfast will be available for pick-up between 7 – 8 am, and lunch will be available between 12 – 2 pm. Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Saturdays, from 12 pm – 3 pm, World Overcomer’s Church is sponsoring a Drive Thru Pantry at their WOCC Durham Campus located at 2933 S. Miami Blvd in Durham. Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
