Gospel icon Erica Campbell is having what feels like a victory lap of a year when looking at the blessings she’s been bestowed with over the past few seasons of her life — we still can’t get over that Super Bowl LVI opening performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” alongside sister Tina that brought down the house altogether!

Thankfully the award-winning singer and radio personality blessed us with her spirit and presence at this year’s Women’s Empowerment, and even had a sit-down with The Light 103.9’s Callie Douglas before her grand performance.

“There’s so much more to come,” Campbell says of the immediate plans for her future career, which as of now includes a children’s book, a podcast and, yes, new music by way of an upcoming album in 2023! Fans may have already got a listen at a preview of what that project may sound like by way of her recent single, “Feel Alright (Blessed).”

“My job as a gospel artist is to tell you about the gospel of Jesus Christ, something you may not know or understand,” she says of making honest music like the amazing song seen above. It also applies to how she moves through life unapologetically overall, also stating, “I have to be persistent, but I also have to be wise.” Those are two things we and millions of her fans across the world, not to mention the Get Up! church of listeners of her daily morning radio show, can confirm is true and then some. It was an absolute delight to have her in the room for a conversation that’s definitely worth viewing and sharing.

Take a look at how Erica Campbell is staying uplifted and empowered in her full conversation above with The Light 103.9’s Callie Douglas for 2023 Women’s Empowerment — hope to see you all next year!
