Tennis champ Serena Williams is having a great professional year, having recently won her fourth Wimbledon title and 13th Grand Slam tournament. But her personal life isn’t as stellar. The athlete, who had been dating rapper Common for more than a year, was suspected of having broken up with the Chicago emcee after he arrived to the movie premiere for ‘Just Wright’ without her on his arm, and now, she’s breaking her silence about the split.
“His schedule is actually worse than mine,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “He didn’t want the responsibility. It’s really tough.” She continued by bringing up an incident where she saw him singing her praises in an interview to Access Hollywood post-breakup. “So I called him and I was like, why are you saying all of this stuff when we’re not together?”
