Today officials in the Gulf of Mexico are engineering a plan to shove mud and cement into the blown-out oil well to stop the oil leak permanently.
For the last 2 weeks a cap has been the only thing keeping the oil from spilling into the gulf. The new plan is called “static kill” which is a procedure that uses mud to force the oil back into the underground reservoir.
The whole procedure is set to be completed by late August…
