The North Carolina Underground Music Awards (NCUMAS) was established in 2008 by Carl Major Potter II. Seeing a void in the market for independent and unsigned musical artists in the North Carolina area, Carl along with his sister, writer/director Sanedria Potter, set out to provide a platform to showcase the talents and honor the achievements, of these artists.
Each year the momentum and attendance sees a steady increase. The community comes together and the state of North Carolina garners a strong sense of togetherness. Past years award recipients and performers have gone on to be signed to labels and receive national attention. North Carolina is a state that is full of talent and Carl and Sanedria are proud to be
planning the 4th Annual NCUMAS.
