Wade Banner will be the official host for TeenFest 2K11 to take place Saturday, March 26 at NC School of Science & Math (Durham). TeenFest develops and nurtures teen community leaders, specifically in the areas of substance abuse prevention and violence reduction.

TeenFest Foundation invites students ages 14 – 19 to audition for TeenFest 2K11 public health education talent showcase. Audition dates: Saturday, March 5th, 1-4pm @ NC School of Science & Math , 1219 Broad Street in Durham; Saturday, March 12, 1-4pm @ NC Cooperative Extension Bldg, 4001-E Carya Drive in Raleigh.

Students ages 14 – 19 must create an original piece of performance art that effectively communicates an anti-underage smoking/drinking, anti–substance abuse, or anti-violence message. There can be no profanity, no lewd gestures, no provocative clothing. The top 10 acts are invited to contest at TeenFest 2K11 (March 26) for prize money. Students under age 18 must have a parent signature and all performers must sign a code of conduct before they can compete. Top prize is $1,000; 2nd place is $500; 3rd place is $250. Bring a completed copy of the “2K11 Registration Form” to the audition.
