WAKE TECH AND TWO AREA SCHOOLS PUT ON LOCKDOWN DUE TO ARMED MAN

SHOWTIME SAYS…

The north Raleigh campus of Wake Tech and two area elementary schools were locked down earlier today for over two hours after a man was discovered carrying a rifle near the schools.

According to Raleigh Police sources an armed man wearing camoflage clothes was seen near Riverbend Elementary School this morning. The school was immediately placed on lockdown along with Fox Road Elementary School. Classes continued to go on inside of the schools, but all of the doors to get into both schools were locked.

Also, school officcials locked down Wake Tech Community College. and the Early College Program on the school’s campus near Fox Rd.

Police officers, deputies and state troopers searched for the man but could not find him. Raleigh police will keep extra patrols around the schools for the rest of the day.
