It looks like White House press secretary, Jay Carney, was not impressed when he was asked about Jay-Z’s lyrics in a conference today. One woman read back the lyrics to get a response, and he said in no way, shape, or form did President Obama clear Hov going to Cuba.
“I guess nothing rhymes with treasury,” he said. As she persisted, he got a little miffed and said, “It’s a song, Donavon. The President did not communicate with Jay-Z over this trip.”
In other words: Don’t be asking me no dumbass questions!
But really though, who was the woman who asked him that? Did she work at SPIN or something? Was the issue THAT pressing you had to bring it to a conference to get the official word? No one rapper should have all that power, but it’s becoming harder and harder to prove that he doesn’t.
But while we’re on the subject, real quick, can I address why Jay-Z thought it was okay to disregard our President’s job and say, “Nah, eff all that, forget being president. Let’s just chill on the beach.” Chill. On. The. Beach. *sighs all around*
