Wu-Tang Clan Summer Jam performers

Every year, the New York City area gets hyped for the hip-hop concert of the year–Summer Jam. This year hip-hop heads will be nodding in approval because the beloved Wu-Tang Clan, along with Chris Brown and Kendrick Lamar, will be performing at the hip-hop festival.

The concert sponsored by New York City radio station Hot 97 will return to East Rutherford, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium to celebrate the concert’s 20th anniversary. To help commemorate the 20th anniversary are performers like Wale, Miguel, 2 Chainz, Joe Budden, Fabolous, A$AP Rocky, and French Montana.

Before the main show begins, there is the Festival Village show. That show is comprised of artists who have buzz, but have yet to crack the mainstream. These are the rappers hip-hop says are up next. That lineup includes Bodega Bamz, Action Bronson, A$AP Ferg, Smoke DZA, Troy Ave, and Kid Ink.

Even if the list of performers doesn’t make you want to cop a ticket, you still should simply because anything can happen at Summer Jam. Last year, Summer Jam was in the headlines because Nicki Minaj, the scheduled headliner, pulled out of the show at the last minute after Hot 97′s on-air personality Peter Rosenberg made some negative comments about Minaj and her music. Other times, Summer Jam has been the place where Jay-Z embarrassed foes like when he showed a photo of Mobb Deep member Prodigy in ballerina gear. Jigga also surprised fans in 2002 with a special appearance by Michael Jackson.

Trust me, this is something you want to witness in person.
