Shooting At Elementary School In Newtown, ConnecticutThe No More Names: National Drive to Reduce Gun Violence bus tour will be making its way to the Triangle on Saturday, June 22nd.

No More Names is an initiative to rally advocates in support of developing “common-sense gun laws.” Supporters will come together to make their voice heard and presence felt in hopes that their pleas for gun safety will not go unnoticed by US leaders. The drive began in Newtown, CT on June 14th, the six month anniversary of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. The bus tour will span over 100 days and will make stops in 25 states.

The stop in Raleigh will focus on support for comprehensive background checks. A special thank you will be given to Senator Kay Hagan for her vote to enforce the protective measures. Advocates will also ask for Senator Richard Burr to reconsider his positions on gun laws.

Families of gun violence victims, community leaders, law enforcement, and local activists will be in attendance. Supporters are encouraged to attend.

No More Names will kick off with a press conference at 10am. A name reading of gun violence victims will immediately follow.
