black-bride

Yeah, we’d all like to have an amazing wedding with an unlimited budget that would allow us to have anything we want.

That’s not reality.

The truth is that many weddings take place in church fellowship halls, community centers or at home as an attempt to save money. As a planner, I’ve often heard brides utilizing these venues say, “I don’t have a lot of money, but I don’t want my wedding to LOOK CHEAP.”

Of course you don’t. Nobody wants a cheap-looking event. While you may not be able to afford some of the luxury details found at more expensive weddings, there are definitely some elements you should avoid to keep your wedding from appearing cheap.

-Try to avoid plastic or paper coverings on your tables. Since you’re saving so much on your venue cost, look into renting linens. It’s not as expensive as you think. Also, linens are one of the most cost-effective ways to change the look of a room.

-Stay away from balloons at your event. Many people automatically turn to balloons as a budget-friendly décor element. Balloons can not only make your wedding look a bit cheaper, it can also date your event. Balloons can be very reminiscent of weddings from the 1980s. Also, many professionals in the wedding industry feel that balloons should be saved for kids’ birthday parties.
