Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey was in Winston-Salem, NC yesterday making arrangements for her friend and mentor, Maya Angelou memorial service. The famed poet passed away last Wednesday at her home at the age of 86. There will be a private service on Saturday, June 7th at 10 a.m.in Wake Forest University’s Wait Chapel. Due to seating capacity Angelou’s family decided to have a closed service for family and friends only. According to the university, Maya Angelou’s family will be planning additional celebrations of her life in other cities across the country.
