After battling cancer for several years, one of Major League’s greatest hitters died at the age of 54. Tony played baseball for the San Diego Padres for 19 years. He was inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2007, the same year he was diagnosed with cancer in the salivary glands, which he attributed to his chewing tobacco habits.
