Beyonce Joins in NYC Dance Class

Here’s a spot of good news to brighten your day: 2,000 students in the United States will receive brand new school supplies to take back to school courtesy of singer Beyonce and her BeyGood charity. EURweb reports:

The singer has selected underfunded schools in a number of cities on the East Coast, including New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Baltimore.

Backpacks stuffed with pencils, notebooks, folders and more back-to-school items will be handed out during “pep rallies for good” at the chosen schools.

Fans can also purchase the special edition backpacks online and all proceeds will benefit the 2014 Back to School Program, which helps at-risk children.

EURweb also reported that Beyonce and her husband, rapper and mogul, Jay Z have spent the summer funding their respective charities, BeyGood and the Shawn Carter Foundation, by donating $1 from every ticket purchased for their On the Run tour. So far, the tour has reportedly grossed more than $100 million. That’s a million dollars donated to charity.
