One of the most successful, if not the most successful female group of all time, TLC, wants your help in funding their last album and they’ve created a Kickstarter campaign to do just that.
The ladies have chosen to go the route of Kickstarter not to line their pockets, but to use the funds raised for expenses directly related to creating the album, so that they can have full control. Also, it gives the fans a change to be involved, since when you contribute at the various levels, you don’t walk away empty handed.
The Kickstarter campaign is hoping to raise 150k to go towards, “a writing session in the studio with a producer and engineer.” The funds raised after that will go to “booking music producers, writing sessions, mixing sessions, recording sessions, and SO much more.”
The final album will feature the two remaining ladies of TLC, T-Boz and Chilli, and they are also enlisting many of the writers and producers they’ve worked with in the past, including Kandi Burruss, who wrote ‘No Scrubs.’
The tier levels start at just $5, where you will get “behind the scenes updates and the chance to vote for which TLC track you want REMIXED,” and goes all the way up to $7,500, where you will get a PHOTO SHOOT with the ladies!
At the time this article was published(11:30am et), they already had 110 backers and had raised almost $8k, and with 31 more days to go, I think they just might meet their goal.
