Original Atlanta Hawks CEO, Steve Koonin, handed control over to the Grammy Award-nominated rap star Tauheed “2 Chainz” Epps through a series of promo videos.

“We could not be more excited to partner with 2 Chainz, an Atlanta-bred superstar who has been one of the team’s biggest supporters and always remained ‘True to Atlanta,'” Steve Kooning told reporters. “Working with Chainz is a perfect fit for our organization as we continue to attract an increasingly diverse, millennial fan base that values great entertainment both on and off the court.”

The Atlanta Hawks will also promote 2 Chainz new rap label, The Real University (T.R.U.), at Philips Arena during the Hawks vs. Miami Heat game on Friday, March 27.

In a recent promo video 2 Chainz says: ” I don’t know if you know who I am, but I’m 2 Chainz. There are going to be some major changes around here, buddy. Truuuuue.”

The Hawks will release one video per day announcing the projected changes.

The Georgia native will also perform three times during the Friday night game.
