Indiana Pacers’ small forward Chris Copeland and his wife Katrine Saltara were both stabbed after leaving New York City hotspot 1Oak shortly before 4 a.m. this morning, according to multiple reports.

The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Shezoy Bleary. According to reports, an argument broke out when Copeland, his wife and Bleary were leaving the club. In the midst of all the clamor, Bleary pulled out a knife, stabbing Copeland in the abdomen and slashing Saltara in the arm and leg.

Reports claim that two Atlanta Hawks, Pero Antic and Thabi Sefolosha were also arrested on the scene in connection to the incident and charged with obstructing governmental administration. Apparently they refused to move as police attempted to set up the crime scene. Reportedly, when police arrived on the scene, they apprehended Bleary and recovered the knife that was used on his victims. Charges are still pending.

Copeland and Saltara were both taken to Bellevue Hospital and are reportedly in stable condition. It’s being reported that Copeland came to New York (where he used to play for the Knicks) because the Pacers were playing against his former team at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.

Reportedly, a 53-year-old woman nearby (Catherine Somani) was also slashed. Somani’s slashing has been reported by investigators to be an accident as she is Bleary’s friend. Somani has been taken to Lenox Hill Hospital.
