Suspect in Emanuel AME Church shooting

Authorities are searching for a suspect who is expected to have opened fire on an African American church in Charleston, South Carolina, resulting in the death of 9 people.

According to local news station WISTV, the alleged shooter has been identified as 21-year-old, Dylann Storm Roof, a white male from the Columbia area.

Already in trouble with authorities, Roof is currently out on bond for charges related to drugs and trespassing, when the incident occurred.

A witness interviewed by NBC News informed reporters that Roof felt this was a crime he had to commit stating, “I have to do it. You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go,”.

Update: Suspect who allegedly shot nine people in SC church as they attended Bible study class,  has been arrested as of today.

Dylan Storm Roof, 21, was captured in Shelby, North Carolina.
