Dr. Dre sure knows how to surprise…

Rap Icon and billionaire, Dr. Dre just shocked the world by revealing that his final album is dropping in 5 DAYS on August 7th! While being interviewed on Beats 1, the legend shocked and announced that his final album will be called Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre

The LP was inspired by the upcoming N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton and will feature some of hip-hop’s greatest artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop, The Game, North Carolina’s own, King Mez, and more..

Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre is available for pre-order now and will be exclusively released on iTunes and Apple Music.

“I’m ready this time, it’s really coming out. I’m so excited about it. I think everybody’s gonna really get into these records, man.”

What happened to the long-awaited album, Detox? Dre said it just wasn’t good enough, so he scrapped it.

“It wasn’t good. The record, it just wasn’t good. I’ma keep it all the way 1000 with you. Seriously, I worked my ass off. I don’t think I did a good enough job, and I couldn’t do that to my fans, and I couldn’t do that to myself, to be perfectly honest with you. I just wasn’t feeling it.”
