Bill Cosby Called To Testify In Rape Lawsuit

An L.A. judge has ordered Cosby to give a deposition in the sexual assault case where he is accused of abusing a 15-year-old in the Playboy Mansion during the 70s. Cosby will be answering to questions from accuser Judy Huth’s lawyers on Oct. 9 under oath. Huth will follow by answering questions from Cosby’s lawyers as well on Oct. 15. Although Cosby and his legal team are openly acknowledging his extra-marital affairs, they are still denying that Cosby took part in any criminal activity. Read more at the Guardian.

Nashville Theater Attacker Shot Dead, Previously Committed For Schizophrenia

Vincente Montano, a 29 year-old man attacked moviegoers in a Nashville Theater yesterday afternoon. Montano came at the audience members with a hatchet and pepper spray, two women were injured and one man suffered a slight wound from the hatchet. Montano had been arrested and sent to a mental hospital for assault charges on four different occasions before his death. Read more at The Tennesseean.

Black Unemployment Below 10 Percent, First Drop In Almost A Decade

The national average of unemployment for Black Americans has significantly dropped for the first time since 2007, now sitting at 9.5 percent. However, the rate is still twice as high as unemployment for Whites, which is estimated at 4.6 percent and the national average of 5.3 percent. Read the details at the Wall Street Journal.
