When it rains, it pours for Alicia Keys, and this year will be a busy one. In addition to putting the finishing touches on her sixth studio album and raising two sons, the singer will also join the cast of NBC’s “The Voice” as a coach.

The announcement was made on Friday, March 25 via the Twitter account of the hit singing competition. “Welcome #AliciaAndMiley as our new Coaches for Season 11! #TheVoice,” they stated.

In the past, the show has switched up its seated judges rotating CeeLo Green, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Pharrell Williams and Adam Levine. Advisors to contestants have included Rihanna, Diddy, Taylor Swift, and even Patti LaBelle. This time around Keys and Cyrus will be pulling double duty, seated in the famous twirling chairs.

Aguilera who takes every other year off, will not be on this 11th season in addition to Williams.

As reported by Billboard, Cyrus will replace Gwen Stefani, Pharrell will be exiting the show too —for this season at least — and Keys will be filling his seat. In 2014 Keys joined the show as Pharrell’s guest advisor. This is the first time there will be two female judges at once.

In addition to the serious amount of girl power we expect, we also look forward to Keys having an affinity toward true R&B talents.

The 11th season of “The Voice” is set to premiere this September.
