According to the LA Times, the city attorney’s office is suing Macy’s, JC Penny, Sears, and Kohl’s for it’s alleged use of “false reference pricing.”
The lawsuit accuses these four major retailers of manipulating customers into thinking that they are receiving much greater deals than they actually are off of falsely inflated prices.
