THe NBA has decided to come back to Charlotte for their annual All-Star game after pulling out of the Queen City last year due to the controversial HB2 bill. The league ended up moving the game from Charlotte to New Orleans prior to the HB2 bill being repealed. Commissioner Adam Silver said “we do not believe we can successfully host our All-Star festivities in Charlotte in the climate created by HB2.” He also let it be known that he would consider bringing the game back to Charlotte if the bill was repealed.

Since the state lost so much revenue last year because of the bill state legislators voted to repeal the bill in March which opened the door for the NBA to come back in 2019
