Earlier this week, America’s former president, Barack Obama, spoke in Chicago about the current state of politics in the US. In the speech, he encouraged citizens to vote and stay devoted to freedom and democracy. Although he did not speak of anyone particular individuals, he did warn the audience of the rise of Nazism in the country, stemming from political leadership. However, many believe that he was referring to chaos circling Donald Trump and his political actions.
In the speech he says, “You have to tend to this garden of democracy, otherwise things can fall apart fairly quickly. And we’ve seen societies where that happens.” He also touches on the subject of free press, where he says “What I understood was that principle of free press was vital, and that, as President, part of my job was to make sure that that was maintained.”
Oh how we miss Barack!
