In June 2017, K97.5 launched a new local show in support of upcoming, underground and Indie artists through NC called Carolina Waves Radio. Hosted by Mir.I.am, Carolina Waves is not only a platform for artists to be featured and interviewed on K97.5, but a chance to take part in major concerts and showcases across NC.
Since June, K97.5 has interviewed, and/ or featured dozens in North Cack’s finest artists making waves including, Swift, G Yamazawa, Young Bull, SoFree Wisdom, Mally Evans, Tigo B, Madison Jay, King Fresco, Da Baby, Ty Harris, Carolina Music Award winners, Imani Pressley and Trez Falsetto, Mballa, SHAME, Dre Murro, OZTHEHITMAKER, Young E Class, LVITTO, DJ Wade Banner, Skziy, Lute, Jalen Santoy, Rapsody and Derty Den.
Many of these artists have even made it into rotation at K97.5 exposing them to hundreds of thousands of listeners throughout the Triangle each week.
In 2017 alone, K97.5 has presented and partnered with major festivals like Hopscotch, A3C, Art of Cool, hosted a Carolina Waves launch Concert, and helped upcoming artists get booked to open up for major artists, and perform on the mainstage at Women’s Empowerment!
