BET has announced that they will be airing a new award show later this year. The inaugural Social Media awards will be hosted by comedian Michael Blackson and executive produced by Mike Epps. The show will highlight the best and worst of social media trends. The show will air live and viewers will be able to vote on category finalists. Categories include Social Hustle, described as, “#BookedAndBusy! These influencers are the definition of “no days off.” From sliding onto our timeline and into our hearts, all while securing the bag, that’s a true hustler mentality. Vote now for your favorite!” There will also be recognition for music artists in the “Issa Wave” category. This will highlight artists who are making moves on the internet.
