Fabolous is requesting that a judge give him a little more time to answer to questions about the assault case that he faces for allegedly beating up his longtime girlfriend Emily Bustamante. On Wednesday Fab was supposed to stand in front of a judge for his first court appearance on aggravated assault and making terroristic threats charges. But, lawyers for the 40-year-old rapper asked the court for a last minute delay.

The judge in the case agreed and gave a three week extension on the case and allowed for it to resume in mid-May.

If convicted on the charges of assaulting Emily, Fab faces three to five years in prison.

Last month, police arrested Fabolous, 40, whose real name is John Jackson, after Emily B.
