Earlier this week a video surfaced of former record executive Dame Dash confronting Lee Daniels about a debt of $2 million.
In a interview that was released today Daniels speaks out about the incident and admits that he does owe Dash the money and the confrontation served as a “wake up call” for him. Daniels says that he is thankful that Dash invested in him early on in his career, but the $2 million was just that…an investment, not a loan.

The acclaimed director told us he’s been thinking about what Dame did for him, and realizes he — more than any Hollywood studio — helped him launch his career. Lee admits it’s a shame it took Dame accosting him in the middle of a Diana Ross concert for him to realize it, but now wants to do “the right thing.”
