After six seasons, Netflix has announced that it is cancelling their hit TV show

“Orange Is The New Black”. Cast members from the show posted a video announcing that season seven will be the last time that we see the ladies of Litchfield.

Netflix Vice President of Original Content for Cindy Holland released a statement about the cancellation of OITNB’s. She said:

“During production of Season 1, everyone involved with Orange Is The New Black felt like we knew a special secret we couldn’t wait to share with the world. Since then, we have laughed, cried, raged, and roared with the women of Litchfield, and every moment spent with them felt like borrowed time — too good to last forever.”

She also added

“We will be sad to say goodbye but we will definitely be going out on a high. We are grateful to Jenji Kohan and her groundbreaking vision; to her supremely talented team of writers and producers; and to a once-in-a-lifetime cast and crew for creating a truly special work of art that has inspired conversations and connected audiences around the world.”

Expect the new season of OITNB to be released in the summer of 2019.
