We all loved the song, ‘This Is America’ and last night watching the Grammy’s, you might have hoped that it would win. And it did, 3 times!
The hit song won a Grammy for Record of the Year and a Grammy for Best Music Video. But the shocker was when it won Song of the Year. “This Is America’ is the first rap song to win Song of the Year!
According to CNN, Childish Gambino (Donald Glover) turn down an invitation to perform at the Grammy’s. No word on why and he didn’t attend either. When the song won, Song of the Year, the other producers of the record accepted the trophy.
Cardi B also made history last night. She is the first woman to win a Grammy for Best Rap Album. She beat out Mac Miller, Pusha T, Nipsey Hussle, and Travis Scott. WOW! Just to point out Lauryn Hill did win with the Fugees, but Cardi B is the first woman to win as a solo artist.
