After the sad and untimely demise of rapper, Nipsey Hussle, questions remained how about his “The Marathon Continues” legacy and brand would continue, and who would be in control of it.

In May, both the Crips and Nipsey’s brother, Blacc Sam, filed for the trademark, which caused a minor riff between them. Now, the crips have decided to withdraw their petition, and have also apologized to Nipsey’s family.

Read the statement below from the Crips LLC:

“There will absolutely be no trademark legal battle between their organization and Blacc Sam, brother of the late Nipsy Hussle. We realize that our actions may have been offensive and we have reached out to his family, respectively Nips sister, Samantha Smith.”

“We are deeply sorry for any disruptions and melee that the trademark acquisition may have caused to his family, friends and fans.” – William King Hollis

We’re glad that the Crips have been respectful and decided to end their fight for the trademark. The Marathon indeed continues..
