Good news for the American economy. We have added an unexpectedly strong 290,000 jobs in April. This made the unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent according to government officials, today. nalysts had expected a gain of about 190,000 in the month.
With the constructive revisions today, April was the fourth consecutive month that the economy added workers. This fantastic news for the millions on Americans who have been laid off or fired and sat in high hopes for so long. True a couple hundred thousand jobs won’t suffice but it is a move in the right direction. It’s clear that the job market still has a long way to go before it can be counted on to provide a base for a sustained economic recovery. More than 15.3 million were unemployed last month.
Private employers added 231,000 jobs in April. The federal government also added, including 66,000 temporary positions for the 2010 Census. So now that the banks have started back lending to entrepreneurs it’s evident that the money is being put to good use. Let’s keep out fingers crossed for the employment to continue increasing and restoring the people of this country.
