Lt. Governor Mark Robinson is promising to come after cable network CNN after his alleged past comments on an adult site came to light in a recent report.

As reported by CBS17, Robinson’s gubernatorial campaign announced Tuesday (Sept. 25) that he hired Binnall Law Group to look into the CNN report. As previously reported, CNN found alleged comments made by Robinson on the message board of adult website Nude Africa between 2008 and 2012, preceding his political career. Those comments included Robinson allegedly calling himself a “Black Nazi” and expressing support for slavery.

Robinson has denied making those comments in a statement released Tuesday:

As I’ve said from the beginning, the claims from CNN are salacious lies.

I will not let these attacks distract us from sharing a better future for our state and I’m glad to be able to bring Jesse Binnall and his team on board to investigate where and how these false smears originated.

I am confident that Binnall Law Group will leave no stone unturned and enable us to use every legal means to hold CNN accountable for their lies. In the meantime, my campaign remains laser-focused on the issues at stake in this election.

The law firm’s partner, Jesse Binnall, previously represented Donald Trump in his failed attempt to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Nevada. He also represented Trump in several civil cases in connection to the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capital and during his indictment over his handling of classified materials.

In a statement, Binall said, “My team and I are looking forward to getting to the bottom of CNN’s claims and we will bring all our resources to bear in getting to the facts. Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, his family and the voters of North Carolina deserve nothing less.”
