North Carolina’s voter turnout for the 2024 general election is surpassing expectations. Over 1 million ballots have already been cast in the first four days of early voting, according to the State Board of Elections.

By Sunday, a total of 1,008,123 ballots were submitted, with the majority coming from in-person early voting.

This represents a 2.4% increase compared to the 2020 election, marking a shift back to in-person voting as pandemic concerns wane.

North Carolina remains a key focus for presidential candidates in the final days of the race.

Election Day for the 2024 election is scheduled for Nov. 5.
