Hillsborough’s first Black mayor Horace Johnson dies at 95
Horace Johnson, the first Black mayor of the Town of Hillsborough, passed away at the age of 95. Known for his transformative leadership, Johnson championed civil rights, municipal development, and community engagement during his six terms as mayor. Johnson’s legacy of service and dedication to making Hillsborough a more equitable place will be remembered by many. He is survived by five children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
