Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has officially signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the team announced Thursday, marking a major shift in the league’s quarterback landscape.

Rodgers, 41, was released by the New York Jets in March and took several weeks to evaluate his options before agreeing to terms with Pittsburgh. He’s expected to report for mandatory minicamp next week and is projected to start for the Steelers this upcoming season.

After a devastating Achilles injury in Week 1 of 2023, Rodgers bounced back last season, throwing for 3,897 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in his only full season with the Jets. Despite his age, he remained one of the most sought-after quarterbacks on the free agent market.

Still, the move raises questions for Pittsburgh. With limited long-term options at quarterback, is Rodgers the solution? The Steelers are betting big that the future Hall of Famer still has some magic left in the tank.
