Caitlin Clark Quad Injury Will Be Re-Evaluated This Weekend

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark remains day-to-day with a left quadriceps strain and will be re-evaluated after Saturday’s game against the Chicago Sky, she told reporters Thursday.
Clark, who suffered the injury during a May 24 matchup against the New York Liberty, has missed three games so far. She was initially expected to be out for at least two weeks.
“I feel like I’ve made a lot of progress,” said the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, who has been observing games from the bench. “I’m not going to rush coming back. But after this weekend, I’ll be re-evaluated and we’ll have a better idea.”
Clark said she’s unsure exactly when the injury occurred, only that it happened early in the game. She felt pain afterward, underwent an MRI, and got “the result that I didn’t want to see.”
Since her absence, the Fever have gone 1-2. Clark played all 40 regular-season games and both playoff contests in 2024, plus the first four games this year. She missed Indiana’s preseason opener with a previous leg injury.
Before the quad strain, Clark was averaging 19.0 points, 9.3 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game this season.
