In a history-making moment, the City of Henderson officially declared June 13th as “VV Day.” This day honors 14-year-old Varonica “VV” Mitchell, a nationally recognized youth leader, Christian influencer, entertainer, and community activist.

The heartfelt ceremony took place at Henderson Collegiate Middle School, where VV is an honor roll student. Representing the mayor’s office, Councilwoman Geraldine Champion delivered the city’s official proclamation, commending VV for her inspiring leadership and commitment to her community.

The event brought together city officials, educators, clergy, and youth supporters across the region. Among the speakers were the Henderson City Council members, the local NAACP chapter, and influential community leaders, including Pastor John Miles and acclaimed director/playwright Connie Ragland. Each shared powerful reflections on VV’s servant leadership, bold faith, and ability to inspire both peers and adults alike.

Stars like legendary comedian Michael Colyar, actress Yvette Nicole Brown, comedian Kev On Stage, and VV’s LA-based manager and Disney Executive Producer Irene Dreayer offered congratulatory messages that left the crowd and VV herself visibly moved.

Local ice cream company Mac Scoops announced the official launch of “The VV Blast,” a new icy treat named in VV’s honor. A quarter of all proceeds from the product will go toward supporting her educational statewide school tours, which focus on youth empowerment and literacy. These include:

  • The EOG Hype Tour
  • Get Hype About Reading Tour
  • Stand Up Against Bullying Tour

At just 14, Varonica “VV” Mitchell continues to make waves nationwide. With millions of online views, major celebrity co-signs, and a heart rooted in faith, she exemplifies that age is no limit when it comes to purpose-driven leadership.
