RoyalTea’s Diddy Trial Update: Day 2 of Deliberations

Jurors in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal criminal trial are back in court today for a second day of deliberations. The music mogul faces five serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted of the most serious charges, he could face life in prison.
On day one, the jury deliberated for more than five hours and raised concerns that one juror might not be following the judge’s instructions. The judge reminded all jurors of their duty to apply the law as instructed.
The jury submitted multiple notes, including one asking for clarification on the definition of “distribution” in drug-related charges. Today, the judge responded by referring them to language that defines distribution as any transfer, not necessarily a sale. Jurors also requested transcripts from two witnesses’ testimonies, signaling a deeper review of the case. According to CNN, the requested transcripts included:
- Cassie Ventura’s testimony regarding the InterContinental incident.
- Ventura’s testimony concerns the events at Cannes and those that immediately followed.
- Ventura’s testimony, if any, regarding interactions / “Freak Offs” with Daniel Phillip.
- Phillip’s testimony regarding the Essex Hotel incident with Ventura.
Diddy was seen briefly speaking to his mother in court before being escorted back to his cell, telling her, “Just relax, it’s gonna be alright.”
Stay tuned for more updates as deliberations continue.
