5th Annual Book Harvest Block Party Returns to Durham Saturday

Durham’s beloved Book Harvest Summer Block Party returns this Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (409 Blackwell Street). This free, family-friendly event celebrates summer reading and promotes a culture of literacy in the community.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including magic shows by Happy Dan the Magic Man, free poems written by the Poetry Fox, fairy hair magic, and more. The event will also feature over 11,000 free, culturally inclusive children’s books available for every child, from infants to high schoolers, to take home and keep forever.
K97.5 and RoyalTea will be attending from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.
Community partners, including PBS Kids, the Museum of Life and Science, and Bike Durham, will be present, offering additional entertainment and resources. Free parking is available throughout the American Tobacco Campus, including street and garage parking.
The Book Harvest Summer Block Party is a joyful celebration of books, summer, and community, providing children with the tools and resources to ignite and strengthen their literacy.
