Diddy Fights For Acquittal Of Prostitution Charges Or New Trial

Diddy is still trying to find a way out of his legal issues, even after being acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Now he’s got his legal team arguing that the prostitution charges he was convicted of under the Mann Act should be thrown out. The Mann Act prevents people from being transported across state lines for illegal sexual activity.
In the 62-page motion, his team says that Diddy’s “freak offs” or sex parties weren’t illegal, and accusing him of violating the Mann Act is a legal overreach, adding, “To our knowledge, Mr. Combs is the only person ever convicted of violating the statute for conduct anything like” [the alleged crimes].”
“Mr. Combs, at most, paid to engage in voyeurism as part of a ‘swingers’ lifestyle,” the filing read, according to The New York Times. “That does not constitute ‘prostitution’ under a properly limited definition of the statutory term.”
The Marc Agnifilo-run team is steadfast in that no one was forced to do anything against their will.
“It is undisputed that he had no commercial motive and that all involved were adults. The men chose to travel and engage in the activity voluntarily,” the motion reads.
“The verdict confirms the women were not vulnerable or exploited or trafficked or sexually assaulted during the Freak-Offs or hotel nights. And Mr. Combs never had sex with the supposed ‘prostitutes.’”
If Judge Arun Subramanian refuses to overturn the Mann Act-related charges, Diddy’s team is demanding a retrial on those two counts of prostitution.
The bold move comes right after his legal team pitched the Judge once again on a bail package that includes $50 million that would allow him to live in his Miami mansion until he gets sentenced in October.
That sentencing also hinges on President Trump, who, according to Deadline, has “seriously considered” pardoning him, adding that the disgraced mogul’s legal situation has risen from “just another Trump weave to an actionable event.”
