The National Weather Service issued an excessive heat warning for most of the central and eastern portions of North Carolina until 8 p.m. Saturday. Highs could reach 104 degrees in some areas, pushing heat index values up to 115 degrees. Which mean it’s hot enough to bake cookies on your dashboard.
