Nate Parker is a hero for refusing to let America forget the pain and suffering it inflicted with slavery. By that same token, he can never forget the pain and suffering he caused his accuser. Accountability, like justice, is a two-way street.

Several of Nate Parker's Penn State classmates released a statement regarding the decades-old rape case.

According to Bossip, a screening of “The Birth of a Nation” and a Q&A has been cancelled at the American Film Institute’s Conservatory. This is first event involving Parker that’s been cancelled since his rape trial while at attending Penn State in 1999 resurfaced.

On Friday, he was asked by TMZ while in his car, about the 17-year-old rape case against the lauded actor and director.

Back in 1999, Parker and his roommate Jean McGianni Celestin were accused of raping and intimidating a girl.

A museum will also go alongside the memorial to trace the country's history from slavery to present day. The structure is slated to open in April 2017.

The controversy ramped up last week when Parker was asked about a 1999 rape charge involving him and Jean Celestin, his college roommate and 'Birth of A Nation' collaborator, while they were students at Penn State University.
