A year after Michael Jackson’s This Is It debuted comes word of another possible film based on the late singer’s work.
According to a report, Kenny Ortega – the director of that concert film/documentary – may be helming a theatrical adaptation of the video for “Thriller.”
Several studios are reportedly interested in obtaining the script to be penned by screenwriter Jeremy Garelick (The Break-Up).
Given Ortega’s involvement, the project would likely be a musical of some sort. Rumor has it the film might center on the folklore behind the classic song/video and Vincent Price’s history in the story.
Although Jackson’s estate would have to sign off on the deal, “Thriller” songwriter Rod Temperton will be involved in the project.
