The puppy’s name is “Red”.  At nine weeks old Red was taken into protective custody because he suffered burns, singe marks, blisters and gashes along his left hip and leg.

Animal Services has been given permission to put “Red” up for adoption, with the minor restriction that he may need to be brought to court as evidence against the person charged with burning him.

Anyone interested in adopting Red can enter the drawing by emailing your name, address and phone number to ccac@co.cumberland.nc.us. Please put “Adoption Drawing Entry” as the email subject.

A drawing will be held to select Red’s new owner on November 24 at the shelter.
