With a mission to enlighten and empower, this year Spectacular Magazine in conjunction with Triangle Cultural Awareness Foundation, will recognize and honor the achievements of eight (8) African American men and/or men who have made a difference in the African American community with the Spectacular Magazine Man of the Year Awards.
Nominations were accepted in seven categories. The NC Juneteenth Celebration Planning Committee, based on a scoring system, selected the top three (3) Semi-Finalists in each of six (6) categories and six (6) Semi-Finalists in the Community Service category (too many nominees to narrow them down to three – two men will be honored in this category). The Finalists will be selected via this on-line voting process that ends on June 3, 2011.
The Finalists will be named at the Spectacular Magazine Man of the Year Awards Banquet on Friday June 17, 2011, the eve of the Annual NC Juneteenth Celebration & Unity March.
