Initially the Seals wanted to surprise Bin Laden but that planned was scrapped when they had to blow-up a malfunctioning Helicopter (right in front of Bin Laden’s compound). That forced them(navy Seals) to enter the house from the roof and the ground floor. The raiders came face-to-face with bin Laden in a hallway outside his bedroom, and three of the seal stormed in after him.
U.S. officials believe Pakistani intelligence continues to support militants who attack U.S. troops in Afghanistan, and actively undermine U.S. intelligence operations to go after Al Qaeda inside Pakistan.
