Greatest Homecoming on Earth. That is the name that has been given to North Carolina A&T’s annual homecoming. The festivities surrounding A&T’s homecoming in year’s past have been all of that with a little bit of something for all age groups. The problem over the last six years is that the Aggies have lost the homecoming game. Until this past Saturday.

The Aggies piled up a season high 440 yards of total offense on their way to a 42-24 victory over Delaware State before a crowd of 19,454 at Aggie Stadium. (There were probably another 10,000 or so throughout campus). For the Aggies it was their third-straight win as they surprisingly sit atop the MEAC standings at 3-0. The MEAC’s leading rusher Mike Mayhew recorded his third-straight game of rushing for over 100 yards for the Aggies finishing with 128 yards on 24 carries and three touchdowns. Quarterback Lewis Kindle completed 13-of-20 passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns – all three touchdowns going to wide receiver Larry Raper who had five catches for 109 yards.

The Aggies travel to Washington, DC on Saturday for the second greatest Homecoming on earth as they take on the much improved Howard Bison. While neither Rick Ross nor DJ Khaled performed at the homecoming concert, my understanding is the concert, which featured Marsha Ambrosius, Meek Mill, Wale and Ace Hood, went very well. We are glad that Ross is doing better after suffering two seizures last week.
