Carolina Panthers quarterback has set another record in his rookie season in the NFL. Newton ran for three touchdowns in a 38-19 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Those three TD’s gave Cam the NFL single-season record for touchdowns by a quarterback.
Cam had three one yard runs for scores and also had his first reception as a pro on a pass that resulted in him setting up Legedu Naanee for a 19-yard TD.
Tampa Bay (4-8) has lost six straight and seven of eight following a 3-1 start. The Panthers are also sitting on a 4-8 record.
Cam completed 12 of 21 passes for 204 yards. He also had 54 yards rushing on 14 carries.
