Cold air moving into the area from the north and moisture associated with an upper level disturbance moving in from the Gulf Coast will combine over North Carolina Sunday, producing the best chance for any frozen precipitation the Triangle has seen all winter.

The problem is, most of us will only see rain.

The chances for snowfall and accumulation are greater toward the Virginia border. Areas from Raleigh south and east could see a trace amount of snow.

Areas from the Raleigh region north and west will be under a winter weather advisory from 3 p.m. Sunday until 9 a.m. Monday because of the chance for sleet, snow and icy conditions on roadways during the morning hours.
